Breaching for Patrol Officers
Course Details
Our two-day Breaching for Patrol Officers Course is specifically designed for non-tactical law enforcement personnel to develop fundamental skills in mechanical and hydraulic breaching techniques. This course focuses on empowering patrol officers with the knowledge and tools needed to make rapid, safe, and effective entries during emergency situations such as active threats, barricaded suspects, or urgent rescues. Participants will learn proper tool selection, breaching methods, and safety protocols, along with practical, hands-on training to build proficiency and confidence. By the end of this course, officers will be equipped to adapt breaching techniques to their patrol environment, enhancing their ability to respond swiftly and decisively in critical incidents.

- Safety considerations and personal protective equipment
- Orientation of manual breaching tools
- Familiarization with hydraulic breaching tools commonly carried by fire departments
- Sizing up breaching problems
- Proper tool selection
- Passive entry methods and techniques
- Forcible entry methods for inward opening doors
- Forcible entry methods for outward opening doors
- Defeating barricaded doors
- Breaching-related tactics (approach, during breach, post-breach)

Equipment List
- Breaching gear from your agency (if desired, tools will be provided by Crisis Zone Consulting)
- Patrol rifle (if available), 2 or more magazines
- Duty/Tactical gear with holster and magazine pouches
- Marking cartridge (SIMS/UTM) setup for your weapon system. 100 marking rounds (50 rifle, 50 pistol).
- Clear eye protection
- Long-sleeve shirt
- Gloves
