Course Details

The Patrol Clearance Tactics Course is a three-day intensive training designed specifically for non-tactical law enforcement personnel to develop effective skills in safely clearing buildings during calls for service. This course focuses on foundational principles of room entry, movement techniques, threat identification, and communication to enhance officer safety and operational effectiveness. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on drills, and realistic scenario-based exercises, officers will learn team-based clearing tactics tailored for everyday patrol situations, such as alarm calls, building searches, and active threats. By the end of this course, participants will gain the confidence and tactical awareness needed to navigate complex environments, make sound decisions under stress, and effectively clear buildings while minimizing risk.

  • Patrol rifle (if available), 2 or more magazines
  • Duty/Tactical gear with holster and magazine pouches
  • A functional shield from your agency (if available)
  • Marking cartridge (SIMS/UTM) setup for your weapon system. 200 marking rounds (50 rifle, 50 pistol).   
  • Force-on-Force PPE (face, long sleeve, gloves, neck, groin)
  • Ear protection (electronic preferred)
  • Clear eye protection
  • Simmunition face mask, gloves, neck/groin protection. Long sleeve top
